VIDEO: Boy with cerebral palsy wins Everton's Goal of the Month
George Shaw, a 9-year-old sufferer of cerebral palsy, has been voted the overwhelming winner of Everton's Goal of the Month for January.
Gerard Deulofeu invited Shaw as a guest to last month's meeting with Swansea City after he was spotted in a viral video wearing the Spaniard's No. 19 shirt. He met Toffees' players before the match, before being given the opportunity to score in front of the Gwladys Street end at half time.
He finished with aplomb, taking 86.07 percent of the vote.
"I never thought I would win. I thought I'd come close because of all the support I've had but I can't believe I won!" said Shaw, who expected Ross Barkley's effort against Manchester City to take the prize.
"Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me. I can't wait for the End of Season Awards now. It will be great."
