Sergio Aguero's plans to return to Argentina may have to wait a little longer as Manchester City attempts to sign the forward to an extension.
With his current deal set to expire in 2019, the Premier League side is keen to secure Aguero's services for an extra season, according to Jamie Jackson of The Guardian.
The report adds that both sides prefer to complete an extension before the conclusion of the season.
The 27-year-old previously announced his intentions to return to Argentina and play for his former club, Independiente, when his contract with City expires.
Although his season was interrupted by a hamstring injury, Aguero sits just four goals back of Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy for the scoring lead with 14 goals in 18 contests.
