Stoke City boss Hughes tells Arnautovic to shoot more often
Stoke City manager Mark Hughes wants to see more shots from in-form striker Marko Arnautovic.
The 26-year-old fired a stunning strike past goalkeeper David De Gea off a blocked free-kick in the first half of Saturday's 2-0 win over Manchester United.
It was his sixth goal through 17 Premier League matches this campaign - more than his total over the past two seasons combined - and it proved to Hughes that his striker must test the 'keepers more often.
"We tell him until we are blue in the face to shoot more, to be perfectly honest, because he has great power," Hughes told Stoke's official website. "If I'm perfectly honest I was quite surprised when he let that one fly against United and it went in."
Arnautovic currently ranks 30th among Premier League players in shots attempted (33). But Hughes hopes that goal will encourage his striker to be bolder in front of goal.
"He had a number of chances," said Hughes. "And could have scored more."
