Darren Anderton gets in Twitter spat over journo's claims of halftime injury withdrawal
After former Tottenham midfielder Darren Anderton's halftime appearance in the Spurs' 3-1 victory over Aston Villa on Monday drew a humourous barb from a BBC Sport reporter, the 43-year-old ex-England international hit back with criticism of his own.

The BBC's Conor McNamara's claimed the former Spurs winger couldn't participate in the crossbar challenge due to injury, which the man affectionately known as "Sicknote" tried to refute as nonsense.

McNamara saved face by uploading audio of the PA announcer's claim that Anderton was carrying a knock that kept him from participating in the crossbar challenge, to which Anderton replied, "great gag."
