Dutch 'keeper Tim Krul injures knee in Euro 2016 qualifier
As if matters couldn't get any worse at St. James's Park, Newcastle's first-choice shot-stopper Tim Krul was injured during a 2-1 Dutch victory over Kazakhstan on Saturday.
Krul was subbed off in the 83rd minute with a suspected right knee injury. The towering netminder, who joined the Geordie outfit in 2005, was photographed leaving the stadium on crutches.

Krul is one of the Magpies' few consistent performers and if he misses an extended period of time, it could spell trouble for Steve McClaren's lot. Newcastle is still in search of its first Premier League win, sitting bottom on three points with an abhorrent goal differential of minus-11.
McClaren will now likely opt for an inexperienced Rob Elliott who, since joining the Tyneside club in 2011, has made only 16 appearances in all competitions.
Krul's tweet indicates the severity of the injury will be revealed soon:
Gutted to come off with an injury tonight. Thanks for all the get well wishes. I will know more about the extent of the injury after scans ?
