Bournemouth's Harry Arter donates to aid 5th-tier player's recovery from knee injury
Bournemouth striker Harry Arter is among many others to donate to a crowdfunding campaign helping pay for a lower-league striker's recovery from injury.
Woking FC's star striker, Scott Rendell, was the top scorer in the National League last season, with 24 goals, but suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the Cardinals' first game of the season at Tranmere on Saturday.
Arter, who moved to Bournemouth from Woking in 2010, was quick to put money towards Rendell's surgery, along with an unnamed England international.
In one day, more than £6,000 of the £10,000 target has been raised.
Thank you for the support ive had from every1 especially from @wokingfc and the fans. The amount raised in such a short time is unbelievable

Woking's club director and chaplain, Ian Nicholson, has been overwhelmed by the response.
"We want to cover the operation, rehab and his wages for the year to enable Scott to fully recover," he told the Guardian. "The response through Facebook and Twitter has been fantastic. This is lower league football at its best!"
