Report: Arsenal considers £22M bid for Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak
An opening day loss inevitably means the search for reinforcements is on at Arsenal.
The north London side are considering a £22-million bid for Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak after a congregation from the team traveled to watch the Polish international at the UEFA Super Cup, according to John Percy of The Telegraph.
A group of Arsenal representatives are believed to have trekked to Tbilisi, Georgia to watch the defensive midfielder in action and decide whether to trigger the roughly £21.26-million (€30 million) release clause in Krychowiak's contract with the Spanish club.
Arsenal has reportedly been interested in procuring his services for more than a year in an effort to introduce competition at the position Francis Coquelin has assumed since rejoining the team last December.
Krychowiak, who joined Sevilla last summer, has enjoyed previous spells with Bordeaux and Stade de Reims in France.
He was a regular fixture in Sevilla's starting squad during its run in the Europa League, where the team captured its second-straight continental title.
