If manager Mark Hughes has his way, Peter Crouch will return to Stoke City next season.
The lanky striker led the Potters in scoring last season with eight goals, and his manager believes he still plays a major role in the squad despite the signing of Mame Biram Diouf from Hannover.
"Peter did very well last year," Hughes told Sky Sports. "Obviously people picked up on maybe something I've said a couple of weeks back about some players arriving so some players will feel they have to leave, Peter isn't one of them.
"We don't want Peter to leave, he's got a big part to play."
Crouch, 33, currently has one year remaining on his deal after arriving from Tottenham in 2011.
