Latest transfer news and rumors: Real Madrid eyeing Van de Ven
The transfer window may be closed, but the rumor mill never stops. Check in every day for the latest transfer buzz around the soccer world.
Top story: Micky to Madrid?
Real Madrid's search for another central defender has led them back to Dutch international Micky van de Ven of Tottenham Hotspur. They've also been linked with Liverpool's impending free agent Ibrahima Konate, but the club sees Van de Ven as an ideal fit for Xabi Alonso's team.
Spurs recently fought off interest from Real's city rivals Atletico Madrid for another star center-back, Cristian Romero. They're now prepared to take a similar stance with Los Blancos and won't consider selling the 24-year-old Van de Ven for anything under €80 million. (Fichajes)
