Non-league's Kidderminster, Boreham Wood advance in FA Cup after shock wins

Kidderminster Harriers engineered a surprise 2-1 comeback victory over the Championship's Reading on Saturday to keep their sensational FA Cup run alive, while Boreham Wood won 2-0 against AFC Wimbledon in a concurrent fixture.

Sixth-tier Kidderminster, who were the lowest-ranked team in the third round, leveled through Sam Austin after George Puscas' first-half opener. Amari Morgan-Smith then smuggled the ball over the line for the winning goal in the 81st minute.

Boreham Wood had no problem facing EFL opposition for the first time this season after beating Barnet, Eastleigh, and St. Albans City to reach the third round. The National League team booted League One's Wimbledon from the competition courtesy of goals from Tyrone Marsh and Adrian Clifton.

The two other non-league teams competing in the third round were unable to produce historic results of their own. National League promotion-chasers Chesterfield were trounced 5-1 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, while Yeovil Town lost 3-1 at home to Bournemouth.
