Liverpool quartet lead PFA Player of the Year nominees
Four members from Jurgen Klopp's Premier League winners Liverpool were named to a six-player shortlist for the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Men's Player of the Year award.
Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Jordan Henderson have been nominated for the annual distinction alongside Manchester City duo Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling.
Van Dijk was named Player of the Year for the 2018-19 campaign and could become the first repeat winner since Cristiano Ronaldo took home the honor in successive seasons between 2006 and 2008 while with Manchester United.
Alexander-Arnold was also included among six nominees for the PFA's Young Player of the Year, which is given to the best player aged 23 or under at the start of the season.
Manchester United attackers Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood were selected, as well as Chelsea pair Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount, and Arsenal teen Bukayo Saka.
The PFA also revealed the six-player list of contenders for the Women's Player of the Year award. League winners Chelsea boast a four-pack of Beth England, Sophie Ingle, Guro Reiten, and Ji So-yun, who were chosen alongside last year's winner, Arsenal striker Vivianne Miedema, and teammate Kim Little.
