Santi Cazorla's time with the Gunners has come to an end.

Arsenal announced Monday that the proficiently two-footed Spanish midfielder is set to leave the club this summer after seeing out his contract.

Cazorla, who was brought over from Malaga in 2012, appeared in 180 matches for Arsenal over six seasons. He did not feature once in the 2017-18 campaign after suffering a right Achilles tendon injury in October 2016, an ailment that nearly resulted in the amputation of his foot after contracting gangrene in his ankle.

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis thanked Cazorla for his accomplishments in north London.

"Santi is always one of my favourite players to watch,' Gazidis said. "His natural ability with both feet, his speed of thought and movement were central to our best performances in recent years. He plays with a joy and freedom which is very rare.

"We wish him well for the future and thank him for his important contribution to our club."
