Guardiola: Stones may miss 6 weeks with apparent hamstring issue
Pep Guardiola offered an early prediction of a six-week layoff for John Stones after he suffered an apparent hamstring problem in Saturday's 2-0 win at Leicester City.
With the media understandably fawning over performances from Kevin De Bruyne and other Manchester City attackers, Stones' assurance at the back has been somewhat overlooked in the club's strong start to the season.
He only lasted 31 minutes this weekend after he was forced off with an injury, presumably handing starts to Vincent Kompany and Eliaquim Mangala in the coming weeks.
City still held firm in the absence of Stones and Nicolas Otamendi, who was suspended for the tie. Gabriel Jesus tapped in just before the break after a well-worked move from the visitor, and De Bruyne blasted in a left-footed beauty four minutes after the restart.
The victory meant table-topping City has won 11 and drawn one to begin the Premier League campaign.
