Welbeck ruled out of Arsenal duty until mid-October
Danny Welbeck is expected to be unavailable for Arsenal's next four matches while he works his way back from a groin injury.
The 26-year-old entered Sunday's 0-0 draw at Chelsea off the back of two goals and one assist against Bournemouth, and managed 73 minutes at Stamford Bridge before having to be replaced by Olivier Giroud.
That could be the last time Gunners fans see Welbeck until a trip to Watford on Oct. 14.
"We don't know how bad his groin injury is but he will certainly be out until the international break," Wenger told BBC Sport, also revealing Welbeck underwent a scan on Tuesday.
Welbeck's projected absence encompasses Wednesday's League Cup hosting of Doncaster Rovers, and Premier League tilts with West Bromwich Albion and Brighton & Hove Albion either side of a Europa League trip to BATE Borisov.
The forward is thus unlikely to be under consideration for England's last two matches of World Cup qualification. Victory over Slovenia on Oct. 5 will assure Gareth Southgate's squad a spot in Russia next summer, regardless of what happens in the Three Lions' Group F-concluding tie in Lithuania three days later.
