Clearly irritated at a heavy tackle from fellow RB Leipzig midfielder Diego Demme during Monday's training session, Naby Keita sought revenge with a crunching, studs-up challenge on his teammate during a practice match.
Liverpool has reportedly been discouraged by having a series of huge bids for Keita rejected this summer, denying the Merseyside outfit of a player that possesses the quality and potential to be a belated heir to Steven Gerrard's midfield mantle.
Perhaps the 22-year-old is irritated at not being granted a Premier League transfer himself, with his training-pitch frustrations visible from the bruises on Demme's knee.
The club released a tweet after the day's exertions showing there were no hard feelings between the pair.
