Everton's Brendan Galloway seeks 1st-team football at Sunderland
Everton sent Brendan Galloway on loan to Sunderland on Wednesday for his second straight season-long move away from Merseyside.
The 21-year-old spent the last campaign on loan with West Bromwich Albion, where he made just three Premier League appearances until he was recalled by Everton in April. On Wearside, he'll link up with former Toffees teammates Darron Gibson and Bryan Oviedo as the Black Cats look to stem their descent following the 2016-17 term's relegation into the Championship.

Galloway was a colleague of Dele Alli at MK Dons before he was taken to Everton by Roberto Martinez in 2014. He's made 21 appearances overall for his parent club, showing an adeptness at both left-back and in the centre of defence.
He's the first signing of Simon Grayson's reign, a manager who has shown an ability to develop youngsters through his guidance of Fabian Delph, Jonny Howson, and Kasper Schmeichel at Leeds United, and the key role he played in Jordan Pickford's progression during a loan stay at Preston North End.
