Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is the latest subject involved in tax trouble in Spain, with a Madrid-based prosecutor filing a claim for two counts of tax fraud in 2011 and 2012 while Mourinho was at Real Madrid.
It's alleged that Mourinho owes Spanish authorities €3.3 million (£2.9 million) in unpaid taxes, according to a statement published on Tuesday. BBC Sport quotes the prosecution as accusing Mourinho of not declaring income from his image rights in order to receive an "illicit benefit."
The claim has been presented to a local court, according to the prosecution, and follows a similar case made against Cristiano Ronaldo over €14.7 million in allegedly unpaid taxes.
