Lowton inks fresh Burnley terms until 2020
Matt Lowton has been rewarded for his performances in Burnley's stingy back four with a new contract until 2020.
The right-back, 27, is the Claret's most successful tackler out of those regularly fielded by manager Sean Dyche and was a key component of last season's promotion from the Championship.
Lowton made his first professional strides in the second tier with Sheffield United - situated nearby to his native Chesterfield - and then moved to endure three increasingly difficult Premier League campaigns with Aston Villa. He shifted to Burnley in 2015 for around £1-million plus add-ons.
Often cropping up to the right of the highly regarded England international Michael Keane, Lowton has helped Burnley forge a home defensive record which has only seen Manchester United, Everton, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur concede less.
