In an effort to correct a potentially wasted generation of talented Ivorian footballers, Marc Wilmots has been called in.
Reservations over the ex-Belgium manager's appointment were given some reprieve on Friday, when Jonathan Kodjia - who's claimed 15 goals in 30 Championship outings for Aston Villa this term - smashed an out-swinging beauty beyond Russia's Igor Akinfeev in Krasnodar.
The tactical credit on this occasion may go to Ibrahim Kamara, though, as the coach was overseeing Ivory Coast from the touchline for this tilt.
The visitor impressively took the tie with a 2-0 win, after Wilfried Zaha danced through some outstretched legs to double its advantage on 70 minutes:
