Report: Cech facing up to a month out with calf concern
In north London, when it rains, it pours.
England's most newsworthy side Arsenal is facing yet another obstacle in its quest for a top-four spot with reports suggesting that first-choice shot-stopper Petr Cech could miss up to a month with a calf injury.
Cech, who has been far from his best this season with the struggling Gunners, picked up the injury during Saturday's drab 3-1 defeat at West Brom, and according to the Mirror's John Cross, the Czech 'keeper is likely to miss a slate of upcoming fixtures.
The 34-year-old is now set to miss out on matches against Manchester City, West Ham, Crystal Palace, and potentially an April 17th visit to the Riverside to face Middlesbrough.
Cech was forced off in the 38th minute of the match at the Hawthorns and replaced by Colombia No. 1 David Ospina, who like his injured counterpart, has been poor this season amid speculation of a summer exit.
With Arsenal sitting sixth, six points adrift of fourth-placed Liverpool with a pair of games in hand on the heels of three 3-1 league defeats in four matches, each injury concern has become a comical wrinkle in a relatively disastrous season.
