Leicester's Simpson trolls Carragher: 'I won the league, you haven't'
It's safe to say that criticism of Leicester City players in the wake of Claudio Ranieri's departure is getting to Danny Simpson.
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher lambasted the defending Premier League champion, accusing players of turning their backs on Ranieri before he was relieved of his duties just nine months after leading Leicester to its first-ever title.
After the Foxes cruised to a 3-1 win over Liverpool on Monday in its first match without Ranieri on the touchline, Carragher said that, despite the victory, Leicester players should feel ashamed of themselves.
"I've been watching football for a very, very long time and I don't think I've ever seen a game of football where two teams should come off the pitch and hang their heads in shame - Liverpool for how bad they were and Leicester for how good they were on the back of how poor they've been, just through effort and commitment," he said on Sky Sports.
Simpson clearly had enough as he took to Twitter to post a picture of the Liverpool legend wearing an Everton training kit after Carragher's interview Tuesday with Toffees forward Romelu Lukaku.

Just gonna put it out there. No offence but I don't think I would ever see @GNev2 training in a Man City Training shirt pic.twitter.com/fgjOOLqKdl

Gary Neville got in on the fun, congratulating Simpson on the win and describing how upset his Sky Sports colleague was in the studio watching the match.
That's when Carragher broke his silence, and a war of words ensued:
@Carra23 come on Jamie it's your job to check them stats. Aren't we all just average players who won the best league in the world
