Tottenham's Janssen ready to step in for injured Kane
Vincent Janssen isn't just hoping to be a stop-gap until Harry Kane returns from injury, the Dutch striker is aspiring to become an irreplaceable component at Tottenham.
With Kane set for a long stint on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury during Tottenham's win over Sunderland on Sunday, Janssen, who joined Spurs from AZ Alkmaar in the summer for a fee reportedly worth £18.5 million, hopes his opportunity to start up front paves the way for increased playing time alongside the English forward.

"I am ready to play. I feel bad for Harry but if he is fit I want to play with him," Janssen told the Press Association.
"He is a very good player. We played some games together and it went very well. He has a lot of qualities - he is one of the best strikers in the world so it is nice to play together with him.
"I can learn a lot from him but at the end I want to play a lot with him. It is nice that he is here."
The Dutch international has proven he's more than capable of towing the load in attack after leading the Eredivisie in goals with 21 last season. However, he has failed to bulge the back of the net in five Premier League appearances this season.
