Pirlo says comments about Pogba were fabricated
Two days after quotes from Andrea Pirlo surfaced concerning the high-profile transfer of former Juventus teammate Paul Pogba, the New York City FC midfielder denies ever participating in the interview.
After the piece ran in the Daily Mail on Saturday and was subsequently picked up by a slew of outlets, Pirlo slammed the British rag with a post on his Instagram account.
Pirlo, who played with Pogba for three seasons at Juve, was quoted as saying, "On the first day training session Pogba had with Juventus the players were laughing."

Pogba made the Juventus switch in 2012 after he didn't receive a contract from Manchester United following three years with the Premier League giant. The rest is history, though Pirlo is quick to dismiss the quotes that were framed as his own.
"Just to make it clear, I never gave any interview to the Daily Mail talking about Pogba and Manchester," Pirlo's statement on Instagram said.
