Watch: Zlatan, Rooney confused by Bailly's Man of the Match award
Manchester United's attacking duo of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney both found the back of the net in their side's 3-1 win over AFC Bournemouth on Sunday, and while the two were commended for their goal-scoring efforts, the Man of the Match award was given, instead, to defensive standout Eric Bailly.
It was a decision that the Sky Sports reporter revealed to the two, causing a bit of confusion in the post-match interview.
"The Premier League Man of the Match was Eric Bailly," the reporter said, as he handed the yellow block statuette to Ibrahimovic. "It's heavy - one of you guys okay to take it in for him?"
The two, looking on with puzzled expressions, quickly caught on.
"Oh, I thought it was Wayne, Man of the Match!" Zlatan joked, before leaving to a round of laughter.
To be fair, Bailly did put in quite a commendable performance, worthy of the accolade.
