The red-haired Hungarian made six first-team appearances for the Reds last season, but will now make the short trip to Gary Caldwell's Latics for the 2016-17 campaign.
Bogdan moved to Merseyside last summer on a free transfer from Bolton Wanderers, but saw his first-team opportunities limited further by the signing of Loris Karius this summer.
