Wenger 'worried' about Welbeck's latest injury
Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck could be set for yet another long stint on the sidelines after injuring his knee against Manchester City on Sunday.
The English striker was forced to leave the match, which ended 2-2, after 25 minutes when he attempted to dispossess City defender Bacary Sagna.
Manager Arsene Wenger admitted he's worried about the striker's health, adding that he believes Welbeck may have damaged the lateral meniscus fibrocartilage around his knee, but stopped short of ruling him out of competing at the European Championship this summer in France.
"The first signs look like the lateral meniscus," Wenger told reporters. "He looks down and he's not a guy who likes to go off."
"I'm a bit worried. I don't want to say about the Euros - let's be a bit more optimistic."
He faces a race to regain fitness in order for England manager Roy Hodgson to consider including him as the June 1 deadline to submit his 23-man squad looms.
