Leicester's title win sends social media into a frenzy

The impossible happened on Monday when 5,000-1 long shot Leicester City became the Premier League's sixth champion.

This story had been developing for months, as the Foxes neared a historic triumph, but that doesn't make the reality any more believable. Predictably, Twitter couldn't contain itself at the fact that Leicester, so close to relegation last year, is now royalty.

They did it. They really did it.

Leicester City, a 5000-1 underdog to hoist the Premier League crown coming into the campaign, did exactly that on Monday - a 2-2 draw between Tottenham and Chelsea the deciding result.

That scoreline at Stamford Bridge was enough for Claudio Ranieri and his band of cast-offs to claim a first-ever title in the club's 132-year history, mathematically eliminating second-place Spurs from contention for the crown.
