Leicester secures Pot 1 placement for Champions League draw with historic title

Leicester City, by virtue of clinching the Premier League crown on Monday after Tottenham's 2-2 draw against Chelsea, secured a place in Pot 1 for the 2016-17 Champions League group stage draw.

A change in format ahead of the coming season sees each champion from Europe's top seven associations - along with the reigning tournament victor - get placed in the most desirable pot for the draw.

Pot 1 is already confirmed to include Italian champion Juventus and French kingpin Paris Saint-Germain, while Bayern Munich is all but assured of joining the elite group this weekend.

Leicester City, a 5000-1 underdog to hoist the Premier League crown coming into the campaign, did exactly that on Monday - a 2-2 draw between Tottenham and Chelsea the deciding result.
