Oxlade-Chamberlain returns to Arsenal training
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has returned to first-team training with Arsenal after two months out with a knee ligament injury, but Arsene Wenger says the player's "not ready" for a role in his matchday squad.
The Gunners travel to struggling Sunderland on Sunday as they look to confirm a spot in the Champions League next season, and Oxlade-Chamberlain being available for the remaining games of the season would serve as a welcome boost to Wenger's oft-depleted team.
"They are not ready yet and I haven't decided yet, but there are not many games left," Wenger said about whether Oxlade-Chamberlain and Santi Cazorla can feature before the season's up. Both look likely to work on their match fitness with the Under-21 side.
One player who could join the squad for the Sunderland trip is Jack Wilshere, who has now played three times for the Under-21 side after overcoming a calf issue that's sidelined him the whole campaign.
