Pogba: 'Question mark remains' over my Manchester United future
Paul Pogba still isn't convinced his future lies at Manchester United.
The Frenchman expressed a desire to pursue "a new challenge somewhere else" this summer, but stayed put during the English transfer window and racked up two assists in the Red Devils' 4-0 opening-day annihilation of Chelsea on Sunday.
However, the serenity of Pogba's performance in a deeper midfield role didn't necessarily reflect his overall disposition in northwest England. After the match, he reopened speculation about a potential move away.
"Obviously there have been things said but only time will tell," Pogba shared, as reported by the Guardian's Jamie Jackson. "This question mark remains. However, as I said, I am here in Manchester. I enjoy playing with my teammates and I always want to win every game. I always give it everything. I am always good whenever I play football. It is what I love - it is my job. I give the maximum each time I am on a green pitch."
The 26-year-old has been linked with a switch to Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid in recent months. Earlier in August, Manchester United apparently rejected Los Blanco's £27.6-million offer for Pogba, which would have also seen James Rodriguez included as a makeweight. Other accounts stated that Real Madrid will only lodge a formal bid for Pogba if their pursuit of Neymar fails.
The English window closed on Aug. 8, but Pogba could still transfer to Real Madrid this summer until the Spanish market shuts on Sept. 2.
