Report: Argos' Harris out for season with torn pec
Toronto Argonauts running back Andrew Harris will miss the rest of the season after it was determined he'll need surgery for a torn pec, according to TSN's Dave Naylor.
The Argos initially hoped Harris would be out four-to-six weeks but said it was still possible he could need season-ending surgery.
The veteran back was unable to finish Friday's 34-27 loss to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats due to the injury. A.J. Ouellette carried the load in Harris' absence, turning 10 carries into 47 yards.
A three-time Grey Cup champion, Harris signed with the Argos this past offseason. He became the sixth player in CFL history and first Canadian to eclipse 10,000 career rushing yards earlier this year.
Harris has tallied 490 yards on 114 carries through eight games this season.
Additionally, Argos wide receiver Cam Phillips is expected to miss three-to-four weeks with a groin injury, per Naylor.
Toronto holds the top spot in the East division with a 4-4 record.
