Blue Bombers sign Darian Durant to 1-year contract
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed veteran quarterback Darian Durant to a one-year contract, the team announced Saturday.
The 35-year-old was released by the Montreal Alouettes on Monday after just one season.
"One of our objectives this offseason was to solidify depth at the quarterback position behind Matt Nichols," said general manager Kyle Walters. "Not only is Darian a veteran player in our league, but he brings a wealth of experience to our quarterback room and our locker room. In many facets, it's a great addition for us, and we welcome Darian to the Bomber organization."
Durant threw for 3,233 yards and 15 touchdowns to 16 interceptions in 15 games for the Alouettes last season. He added 182 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
Prior to his brief stint in Montreal, Durant played 11 seasons for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
