Calgary Stampeders running back Jerome Messam was named the Most Valuable Canadian at the 105th Grey Cup on Sunday.

Despite his team losing the game 27-24 to the Toronto Argonauts, Messam was a driving force for the Stampeders, amassing 62 yards on only 13 carries, adding a touchdown on the ground and another through the air on a 6-yard reception.

The 32-year-old Brampton, Ontario native was previously named the CFL's Most Outstanding Canadian in 2011 and 2016.
