The BC Lions couldn't escape their recent rut Saturday, falling to the Ottawa Redblacks 30-25 after allowing 24 unanswered points in the final two quarters.

Both teams entered the contest on two-game losing streaks. The Lions have now lost six of their last seven games after starting the year with a 5-2 record.

Ottawa quarterback Trevor Harris threw three touchdown passes after the Lions took a 25-6 lead with six-and-a-half minutes to go in the third quarter, finding Greg Ellingson for a pair of scores.

Running back William Powell didn't get in the end zone for the Redblacks, but provided a big boost, rushing for 92 yards on 17 carries while picking up 32 receiving yards on five catches.

Lions quarterback Jonathon Jennings passed for 375 yards with three touchdowns and an interception, but an inability to control the clock and run the ball allowed the Redblacks too many opportunities to close the gap.
