The Calgary Stampeders earned a berth in this year's CFL playoffs by entering enemy territory and handing the Saskatchewan Roughriders a 15-9 defeat Sunday.

Offense was certainly at a premium throughout the contest, as the Stampeders managed to claim victory without scoring a single touchdown. Kicker Rene Paredes had ample work, converting each of his five field-goal attempts.

Bo Levi Mitchell was consistent for the Stampeders through the air despite not finding the end zone, completing 24-of-32 passes for 222 yards. Jerome Messam led all rushers in the contest by a large margin, rumbling for 127 yards on 23 carries. The Roughriders run game was largely inactive, managing only 28 yards as a team on just 12 carries.

Riders quarterback Kevin Glenn struggled to form any sort of offense before exiting the game in favour of Brandon Bridge. Riders head coach Chris Jones told Lee Jones of CTV Regina postgame that the switch was made because the team was unable to protect Glenn, and Bridges gave them a more mobile option.

Bridge completed 6-of-7 passes for 91 yards and the game's lone touchdown - a 14-yard pass to Devon Bailey in the fourth quarter.

The victory moves the Stampeders to 11-1-1 on the season, while the loss drops the Roughriders to an even 6-6. Both teams will be in action next week as Saskatchewan travels to take on the Ottawa RedBlacks on Sept. 29, while Calgary welcomes the Montreal Alouettes that same night.
