Reilly pushes Eskimos to 7-0 with comeback win over RedBlacks
The Edmonton Eskimos remain perfect.
Mike Reilly's team-leading 384 yards through the air and 51 yards on the ground were enough to keep the Eskimos' undefeated after seven games, as they topped the Ottawa RedBlacks 27-20 on Thursday.
Edmonton grabbed an early 13-0 second-quarter lead but needed a fourth-quarter comeback to stay unbeaten. The Eskimos trailed until the 10:20 mark of the fourth quarter when Reilly hooked up with Chris Getzlaf for an 8-yard score and converted a two-point rush to jump ahead 27-20.
Bryant Mitchell led the Eskimos in scrimmage yards with 114 receiving yards on seven catches. Running back LaDerius Perkins tied Reilly in rushing yards with 51 on 16 attempts.
The RedBlacks gave Edmonton a run for their money as quarterback Trevor Harris went 26-of-37 for 266 yards and two touchdowns, but Ottawa's inability to rush the ball hindered them from keeping the 13-point lead.
