Jonathon Jennings only lasted one play in Saturday's game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
The BC Lions quarterback left the contest because of a bruised shoulder, the team told TSN's Matthew Scianitti. Jennings took a big hit after throwing an interception on the Lions' opening play from scrimmage.
Jennings was initially ruled questionable to return, but never came back into the game.
Veteran backup Travis Lulay took over behind center on the next possession and threw for a record 436 yards off the bench in the victory.
While Lulay is a capable replacement, the Lions are undoubtedly hoping the injury is minor. Jennings threw for more than 5,200 yards and 27 touchdowns a season ago, while guiding BC to the Western Division Final.
