Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann netted the decisive strike at a "better" Bayern Munich on Tuesday, and says his side is fearless as it now undergoes preparations for the final at Milan's San Siro on May 28.

In a typically astute defensive yet devastating counter-attacking performance from Diego Simeone's ranks, Atleti's 2-1 loss meant the aggregate scoreline stood at 2-2, handing the Spanish outfit its second Champions League final in three years courtesy of the away-goal rule.

"We're delighted. It was difficult, a really hard game, we had a great opponent in front of us but we did it," Griezmann reflected post-match.

"They were better, but we scored an away goal, which was important."

Three minutes after Xabi Alonso had levelled the two-legged fixture at 1-1 with a free-kick, Thomas Muller was denied the opportunity to put Bayern ahead when Jan Oblak thwarted his effort from the penalty spot.

Griezmann's goal came nine minutes after the restart, but this pulsating tie still had a Robert Lewandowski headed goal and Fernando Torres spot kick save to offer before referee Cuneyt Cakir called time on proceedings at the Allianz Arena.

"We fear no one. No matter who we play in the final. We're there and we'll celebrate," added Griezmann, who became Atletico Madrid's all-time top scorer (nine) in the competition with his tally.

Griezmann's strike partner Torres won the penalty that was saved by Manuel Neuer, but can look upon the two legs as a job well done by himself and his colleagues.

"It was very intense. I'm so proud of this team and group," said Torres. "It's fully deserved."

Atleti will learn of its Champions League final opponent on Wednesday, when Real Madrid welcomes Manchester City to the Santiago Bernabeu with the score line finely poised at 0-0.
