Novak Djokovic is confident he can set the record for both the most Grand Slam tournament victories and the longest reign as World No. 1 by the time he retires.

The 32-year-old currently sits atop the ATP rankings and has 17 Grand Slam titles to his name, two behind Rafael Nadal and three fewer than Roger Federer.

"I'm always very confident in myself," the Serbian star said on "In Depth with Graham Bensinger," according to Reuters' Rory Carroll. "I believe I can win the most slams and break the record for longest No. 1. Those are definitely my clear goals."

Federer also currently holds the record for most weeks at No. 1 with 310 and the most consecutive weeks with 237 compared to 282 and 122 for Djokovic.

"I don't believe in limits. I think limits are only illusions of your ego or your mind," Djokovic said about potentially playing into his 40s.

Djokovic was enjoying a rich vein of form prior to the suspension of professional tennis in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. He captured an eighth Australian Open before a fifth victory at the Dubai Tennis Championships extended his unbeaten run to 21 matches.
