Everton officials apparently listened to Ronald Koeman's demand that the club add reinforcements, as news broke Wednesday that forward Ishak Belfodil is set to join the Premier League side from Standard Liege.

The transfer agreement between the two clubs is believed to be worth £10.4 million, Ed Aarons of the Guardian reports.

Belfodil's reported arrival is a clear indication that Everton is eager to upgrade its attacking unit as he gets set to join young forward Ademola Lookman as the second striker to join the club in the opening weeks of the winter transfer window.

The Merseyside outfit is also inching closer to securing a move for midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin after reportedly agreeing to a £22-million fee with Manchester United.

Everton has hit one roadblock during its effort to improve, however - Atalanta allegedly rejected the team's £15-million bid for midfielder Franck Kessie, who's also been linked with a move to Chelsea.

Liege initially rejected a £8.5-million offer for Belfodil, 24, before coming to an agreement. Everton is expected to announced his arrival within 48 hours.

The Algeria international, who was not named to his country's squad for the Africa Cup of Nations, reportedly joins Everton on a three-year contract.

Belfodil scored seven goals in 16 matches after joining Liege last summer form Baniyas Club in Abu Dhabi.
