Pacey England youth international Ademola Lookman is set to make the jump to the top flight after Everton confirmed Thursday the signing of the talented winger on a permanent move from League One side Charlton Athletic.

The Toffees announced the move, adding that the London-born 19-year-old joins the club on a four-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee, with various reports suggesting a £7.5-million fee that could rise to £11 million based on appearances.

Ademola arrives at Goodison Park on the heels of a breakthrough half-season with the Addicks where he bagged seven goals this term after being named EFL Championship Apprentice of the Year the prior campaign when Charlton dropped to the third tier.

Blessed with heaps of quickness, should Lookman be able to quickly acclimate to Premier League football, his arrival may help stem the long-term absence of fellow left-winger Yannick Bolasie.

Considering Everton boss Ronald Koeman's penchant for giving young players a shot, Lookman may very well play a similar role this campaign as other budding first-team players Mason Holgate, Tom Davies, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Lookman appears aware of Koeman's willingness to go young, saying, "When you look at what he did at Southampton, and what he does with young players in terms of developing them, that was a big attraction.

"It was great playing in The Championship last season and for the last six months in League One but I feel like I’m ready to make the step up to the Premier League."
