After 1,679 days apart, Antonio Cassano and Sampdoria are reuniting.
The Italian club announced Sunday that the 33-year-old forward, who featured at Stadio Luigi Ferraris between 2007 and 2011, put pen to paper on a contract until June 30, 2017.
Cassano last took the pitch at Parma, the club with whom he reached a mutual agreement in January to terminate his contract following claims of unpaid wages.
"I'm happy, forza Samp forever," said Cassano, who will report for his first training session later on Sunday at Bogliasco's Centro Sportivo Gloriano Mugnaini.
Sampdoria kicks off its Serie A campaign Aug. 22 versus top-flight newcomer Carpi F.C. 1909.
