AC Milan continues busy summer with €8-million signing of Luiz Adriano from Shakhtar Donetsk
Adriano Galliani's phone continues to rack up charges this summer. At least its starting to pay dividends.
After missing out on multiple targets early in the transfer window, AC Milan completed its second deal of the day Thursday, announcing the signing of Brazilian forward Luiz Adriano from Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 28-year-old, whose contract with the Ukrainian side was due to expire in January, scored nine goals in the Champions League last year - including a record-breaking performance that saw him hit the back of the net five times in one match against BATE Borisov.
Though Milan did not disclose the financial details of the deal, Shakhtar was more than willing to oblige, noting on their website that the two sides agreed on an €8-million fee for the attacker.
"We wish Luiz good luck in his new club and beautiful victories," the club said in a brief statement.
The news comes after Milan announced earlier in the day that an agreement had been reached with Sevilla over the transfer of striker Carlos Bacca.
