Gervinho signs contract extension with Roma
Things are going well for Gervinho at Roma following a disappointing spell at Arsenal, and the club hopes that they have locked him down for another successful season.
The 27-year-old striker notched nine goals and 10 assists in 33 appearances last season, and he recently scored in the final minutes of Roma's 2-0 win over Fiorentina with an excellent individual effort in the club's Serie A opener.
With such impressive numbers in front of goal, Gervinho was rewarded with a contract extension on Monday that will keep him at the Stadio Olimpico until June 30, 2018, exactly one year longer than his previous deal with Roma.
Expectations are high for the Italian club this season as they look to improve on their second-place finish from the 2013-14 Serie A, as well as emerge from a group that contains Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and CSKA Moscow in their return to the Champions League.
