Report: Liverpool has no interest in Joe Hart

Liverpool is not planning a move for Manchester City outcast Joe Hart in the January transfer window or the summer, sources told Sky Sports News.

The England international goalkeeper is currently on a season-long loan with Torino after being told he was surplus to requirements at City by Pep Guardiola, but has quickly won a cult following in the Piedmont region due to some fine displays of athleticism between the sticks.

Despite his popularity, reports have suggested that Hart, 29, is keen on returning to his homeland and would be interested in calling Merseyside home. UEFA rules state, however, that no player can represent more than two clubs in a season, meaning he would be ineligible until next season if he signs elsewhere.

Hart's elasticity would be welcomed by many among the Liverpool support, who have watched their team claim second place halfway through the Premier League campaign despite shaky shot-stopping displays from Loris Karius and current first-choice Simon Mignolet.

Karius joined from Mainz in the summer but has been unconvincing when collecting crosses and has appeared nervous with the ball at his feet. Mignolet, meanwhile, has been repeatedly questioned in the Anfield stands and English media for regular mistakes since his transfer from Sunderland in 2013.

Liverpool follows up New Year's Eve's 1-0 defeat of Manchester City by travelling to Sunderland on Monday.
