Under fire Inter boss De Boer unsure if he'll last the week

Without a win in four Serie A matches, Frank de Boer can't be certain whether he'll be patrolling Inter's touchline by the end of the week.

Sunday's 2-1 loss to Atalanta amplified the pressure on the Dutch manager, who's struggled to produce consistent results in his first two months in charge.

September's big victory over Juventus seemed to trumpet a new era for the Nerazzurri, but they have disappointed against inferior opposition since.

Inter as a club is divided over whether to keep De Boer or find a replacement, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.

But De Boer feels the cloud hanging over his head.

"All I can do is work hard, but I don't know if I will still be here on Wednesday. It's a difficult moment for everybody, especially for me, but the only thing I can do is carry on working hard," De Boer told Sky Sport Italia, as translated by ESPN FC's Ben Gladwell.

To his credit, De Boer has tried to adapt quickly. Hired just two weeks before the start of the Serie A season, the former Ajax boss has already learned to speak Italian, conducting interviews without the help of a translator.

Several other off-field incidents have affected Inter in recent weeks, the most recent of which was triggered by captain Mauro Icardi's inflammatory autobiography.

Various individual errors have also cost De Boer's side valuable points.

Inter, which is stuck in 14th in the Serie A standings, hosts surprise package Torino on Wednesday.
