Report: Free agent Flamini drawing interest from Palace, Roma, Milan

Free-agent midfielder Mathieu Flamini is weighing his next move, and he has no shortage of options across Europe.

Flamini is available on a free transfer, after running down his contract with Arsenal, with Crystal Palace, AC Milan, Roma, and Olympiacos all interested in signing the 32-year-old, according to the Guardian's Dominic Fifield.

Palace tried to sign another Arsenal player, Jack Wilshere, on loan in the hours before Wednesday's transfer deadline. But the 24-year-old instead chose Bournemouth, which agreed to pay the player's wages in full.

Manager Alan Pardew conducted solid business this summer, bringing in Loic Remy and Christian Benteke to solve the club's goal-scoring woes. He reportedly attempted to sign Genoa's Tomas Rincon and Everton's James McCarthy, but neither of those moves materialised.

Known as a tough-tackling midfielder with a penchant for going a little overboard, Flamini can still offer depth to top clubs. Milan is lacking in the position, despite the last-minute signing of Chilean Mati Fernandez from Fiorentina. The Rossoneri also made a last-ditch effort to sign Wilshere on loan, although his preference was to stay in England.

Flamini played previously in Serie A with Milan from 2008 to 2013. He enjoyed his highest-scoring domestic season there during the 2012-13 term, when he turned in four goals in 18 appearances.
