Pjanic completes €32M move to Juventus
Juventus completed the signing of midfielder Miralem Pjanic from AS Roma on Monday in a deal worth €32 million, with the Bosnia and Herzegovina international committing his future to the Bianconeri for the next five seasons.
Pjanic announced his intention to join the five-time defending Serie A champion in a letter to Roma's general manager, Mauro Baldissoni, deciding to activate the release clause in his contract with the Giallorossi.
The 26-year-old arrived in Turin on Monday to conduct his medical, and everything apparently went smoothly.
The total fee is expected to be €38 million, given that Pjanic is entitled to a 15 percent cut.
It's a big loss for Roma, which is struggling to keep its side together after finishing third in Italy's top flight. Radja Nainggolan is also fielding interest from the Premier League.
The signing represents a coup for Juventus, adding yet another quality midfielder to its ranks while weakening a direct rival in Serie A.
Pjanic is one of Europe's finest free-kick specialists, as he proved over the 2015-16 campaign when he registered 10 goals and 12 assists in Serie A.
