Dani Alves' agent confirms talks with Juventus, no agreement yet

Turns out there was something to the rumours linking Dani Alves with a move to Juventus after all.

The Brazilian right-back, 33, is believed to have a clause in his contract that would allow him to forego the final years of his deal with Barcelona and become a free agent, with Spanish radio station Cadena SER claiming Wednesday he would opt out and make the move to Italy.

Speaking with Marca, Alves' agent, Dinorah Santana, confirmed there has been discussions with the reigning Serie A champion. However, she was quick to point out that no agreement has been reached, adding that Juventus is not the only side interested in the marauding right-back.

"It is not true that there is any type of agreement. Dani has not settled anything with anyone and right now he is in Brazil and his main focus is on preparing with the national team," Santana said.

"It is true that I have met with Juventus, but not only with them. I have also met with Turkish clubs, with one from England and another from France.

"There is no type of offer, we have nothing to evaluate. If there had been any type of offer first we would have to evaluate it and then if it seems to me a reasonable offer, I would mention it to Dani."

Juventus director Beppe Marotta, meanwhile, stopped short of confirming any concrete interest in either Alves or Barcelona teammate Javier Mascherano, who has also been linked with a move to Turin. He did, however, extol the virtues of the pair, claiming they could bring a wealth of experience to the club given their trophy-laden time at the Camp Nou.

"La Liga is the league that best represents European football,” said Marotta.

"Speaking of Barcelona and Real Madrid, you're talking about champions who could make the difference in our game and be important."
