Pellegrini admits Serie A ambitions amid links to AC Milan
Manuel Pellegrini won't rule out managing AC Milan one day.
The Manchester City manager is set to depart the Etihad Stadium this summer, where he'll be succeeded by Pep Guardiola, and admits an interest in managing in Italy in the future.
"Serie A is where all coaches have ambitions of going. But that's not something I'm thinking of right now," Pellegrini told Mediaset ahead of City's clash at Real Madrid on Wednesday, according to ESPN FC's Ben Gladwell.
The 62-year-old Chilean has managed across South America and in Spain and England, but has never worked elsewhere in Europe.
AC Milan's ownership is currently up in the air after president Silvio Berlusconi revealed he's received a takeover bid from China. Sinisa Mihajlovic was unceremoniously ousted from the helm in April and replaced by the inexperienced Cristian Brocchi. Pellegrini would, therefore, require assurances from the Rossoneri hierarchy that their ambitions befit his own.

"Right now, the only reason I want to go to Milan is to play the final of the Champions League and win it," Pellegrini continued. "Only after then will we found out what my future holds."
AC Milan has had a season of upheaval off the pitch and an underwhelming one on it; the club occupies seventh place in Serie A with two matches remaining.
